The 10 piece series, “PERSPECTIVE / PERCEPTION”, are overlaid translucent illustrations that invite the viewer to use red and blue transparencies to decipher concepts of identity, religion and space in the duality of current society. PERCEPTION is the act or faculty of apprehending by means of the senses or of the minds understanding. PERSPECTIVE is one’s “point of view”, the choice of a context for opinions, beliefs and experiences.
In the 3rd Ward Open Call For Submission, we propose that the 10 piece series be screen printed on canvas in various sizes along with custom made red and blue transparency viewers. This series is a growing work-in-progress where additional society concepts are currently being researched and illustrated. One of the pieces from the series was accepted into the 2011 Parsons Alumni Exhibition as shown above.
