The Institute for Education in International Media, a pioneer in journalism education, has been taking students abroad since 2002. It was founded by Andrew Ciofalo, now a professor emeritus at Loyola University Maryland.
This past summer, 7ONE8 participated in the Magazine Design Course with the students for four weeks in Urbino, Italy, teaching on principles of magazine design and photography.
The final piece was a full color 92 page travel magazine of Italy’s Le Marche Region. The magazine serves as an informational and inspirational resource for English-speaking visitors to the area. Urbino Now is made available as a print-on-demand magazine through MagCloud.com, in a “page-turner” format on Issuu.com, and as a downloadable PDF.
In 2010, 7ONE8 was hired to design the magazine production as well as program it for digital distribution.
