Parsons presents an exhibition of work by alumni of the school as part of its annual reunion weekend. The exhibition features more than 60 works in a range of media by alumni representing more than fifty years of Parsons history–from the graduating class of 1960 through 2011.
The art piece accepted was from a 10 piece series, called “PERSPECTIVE / PERCEPTION.” It uses overlaid translucent illustrations that invite the viewer to use red and blue transparencies to decipher concepts of identity, religion and space in the duality of current society.PERCEPTION is the act or faculty of apprehending by means of the senses or of the minds understanding. PERSPECTIVE is one’s “point of view”, the choice of a context for opinions, beliefs and experiences.
