How Being Green is Part of ANY & EVERY Revolution #ows

The green movement is not only limited to brands using words like “organic” or changing their brand colors to green…Its truly a way of living that is not excluded from todays ongoing series of demonstrations in New York City called Occupy Wall Street.

Not only does the movement offer free health care, a sanitation team, a public library, solar power, and free childcare but they also set up a gray water system. The kitchen, which now has several racks of dishes and supplies, created the water system to filter the water used to wash the dishes before using it to water the plaza’s flowers.

Greywater irrigation has long been practiced in areas where water is in short supply. Greywater is specifically washwater from baths, dishes, and laundry water excluding toilet wastes and free of garbage-grinder residues. When properly managed, greywater can be a valuable resource which horticultural and agricultural growers as well as home gardeners can benefit from.

“We have been self-governing and self-organized and taking care of our space,”woman facilitating the GA calls through the people’s microphone. The willingness of a revolution to embrace such tasks like grey waters is part of the reasons why a green world is part of ANY and currently every revolution today.
