Making something beautiful out of nothing is how I approach art. After 10 years of photographing art and nature on the streets, I started to see a pattern, the word LOVE.
Made me hopeful to know that many people wish for Love. But after reading about Dr. Masaru Emoto water crystal studies I was inspired to focus on creating a series.
According to Dr. Emotos findings, when water was exposed to positive words, be it prayer or handwritten, the crystal formations in the water transformed into beautiful geometric patterns of shapes. But when a negative term was used, the water crystal formations did not have the same beauty as before.
This same reaction to words you can see happen to plants, animals, children and of course to ourselves. But in many self help and old spiritual practices, the use of positive words or mantras is used to heal. Think of how bright someone smiles when their being appreciated.
“We Found Love” is an echoing of this thought. Via street art that uses spray cans to letters written in a cement floor, these anonymous artist wish to share with you a thought of Love, many of them permanent.
By scaling them up (some 10x larger then the original) and cropping them with re-salvaged frames, the scribble on the wall you might pass by every single day becomes a positive affirmation or mantra.
With “We Found Love” Series my intention is for the pieces to become a daily reminder of Love.
